Harris the Wild Haggis – The Mist of the Midnight Loch - Book 2
The Journey begins: Harris and his friend Oscar the Otter set out to find the ‘Great Clan’ after Harris discovers a large, fresh footprint in the moss near the standing stones.
The Bog of Giggles: To reach their destination, they must cross the ‘Flatlands of the Giant Ferns’ and the ‘Bog of Giggles’. This area is perilous for a haggis because the ground is perfectly flat, and a magical mist causes travellers to walk in circles.
Helpful Allies:
Eilidh the Snowy Owl: A historian who explains they must ‘hear the mountains’ to find their way. She gives them silver bells to help them stay focused and close together in the mist.
Mairi the Highland Cow: A massive, friendly cow who gives them a ride through the deep mud.
